Egun Direct & ShaloTek

I've had the pleasure of getting to know some amazing people in the firearms industry over the last few years. Some manufacturers, incredible marksmen, and now a top of the line FFL.
I have to say, walking into their shop is one of the most unique experiences I've had in the gun world. Like a scene straight out of John Wick, the front of the store is a tailor shop. It's doubtful that a pedestrian walking in off the street would have any notion that it’s a gun store at first glance. Custom clothing, gear and accessories unbecoming of a firearms dealer; outside of the Egun logo. Hidden around the corner is the back office. Showing a little more of the business side of things with a Silencer Shop terminal and a few guns on the wall, it's a comfortable place to fill out paperwork. Turn to your left though and there’s a big vault door. Thinking it was purely aesthetic, it’s a real, heavy duty vault door. Through which you’re greeted by a beautiful gun room. Wood walls adorned with firearms from Q, Sig and many more. They even had Q’s new Boombox on display. There's a Medusa head logo ambedded into a tartan floor, leather furniture by a whiskey table and fireplace alongside some spectacular firearms on display. The whole store is appropriately named: The Continental.
Egun Direct not only has an outstanding selection of firearms on hand, but they can get ahold of just about anything you can think of. From your pea shooters to high-end rifles, these guys make it happen. I'd been waiting on Silencer Shops website for the Short Chop suppressor to come back in stock for a couple months and I was shocked to find out they had one in stock when I called. The next day I went in to fill out the paperwork and they've made the process an absolute breeze.
Most recently they've stepped up their footprint and opened an in-house gun counter at The Highlands Sportsman's Club. I've been hunting at The Highlands since I could wield a shotgun, and they will be a spectacular addition to their already top tier operation. Being able to walk in from a hunt and buy the gun you were testing out will be terrible for my wallet. That, alongside the significant investment the Highlands is making in their tactical shooting facility, should bode well for the future. There will be a subsequent write up on The Highlands itself, but this will expand the customer base for Egun significantly, and in a much different and more rural location than they are located in now. I haven’t seen the finished shop yet, but from everything I’ve heard, it’s perfect.
Their next expanding operation will be at Hillsdale College in Michigan. Wish my college would’ve had a gun range on it! Sounds like it will be a great endeavor once it’s up and running.
Egun isn’t only a middleman though. They also own a company called ShaloTek. ShaloTek is a high end parts manufacturer for Sig P365 & P320 pistols as well as a few other things. They make upgraded slides, frames and barrels, as well as full builds that make it as simple as just dropping your FCU into a full build. It makes for one hell of a gun. They had a couple of full builds in house to show me and wow are these comfortable. One of the most comfortable carry pistols I’ve held in a long time. The gold one in the display case was pretty cool too.
Mike and company are the real deal. There are plenty of gun shops around the US (I actually Googled it and there are 78,000 FFLs - by way of comparison, there are only 33,000 post offices). Amongst an abundance of options, it’s hard to find not only knowledgeable people, but someone you can trust when dealing with high end firearms and NFA items. Egun Direct is by far the best gun shop I’ve found in the Milwaukee area. Quite frankly they're one of, if not the, best gun shops I know of. I’m very glad I discovered them and couldn’t recommend their shop more.
